Smoothie supports a variety of import options that make bringing your original pictures into Smoothie easy.
Using the Clipboard
Using the Clipboard to bring in your original picture is as simple as using the Clipboard in any other Macintosh application. Just select Paste from the Edit menu to place the Clipboard picture into the current Smoothie document. If there is not a picture on the Clipboard, the paste item in the Edit menu will be dimmed.
Importing a PICT File
Another simple way to bring pictures into Smoothie is to import a PICT file. Just choose Import PICT File… from the File menu and then choose the PICT file you want. Clicking the Open button brings the picture into the current Smoothie document.
Subscribing to a PICT edition
A powerful way to bring your pictures into Smoothie is to use System 7ΓÇÖs Edition Manager. The Edition Manager lets you link pictures between various programs.
After publishing a picture from your drawing program, you can choose the Subscribe To… item from the Edit menu to have Smoothie subscribe to the picture edition.
When a Smoothie document contains a subscription to a picture edition, Smoothie is notified of any changes that are made to the original picture when it is updated.
